Can I use Mowzey offline?

Partially. Crews can view their route and mark jobs complete without signal; charges and route changes need a connection.

Mowzey works in spotty-signal areas as long as the page was loaded while you had connection. Most of what your crew does on a job site (look up the next address, mark a job complete, jot notes) keeps working even when bars drop. Anything that touches money or recalculates routes needs a live connection.

What works offline

  • Viewing today's Schedule, including all job details that were loaded before you lost signal.
  • Tapping "Start" on a job and "Complete" when you finish.
  • Adding notes and photos to a job (queued, uploads when signal returns).
  • Viewing customer info that was already loaded.
  • Tapping an address to hand off to your phone's Maps app for directions.

What needs a connection

  • Auto-charging a customer when you mark a job complete (instant billing).
  • Sending invoices, quotes, or any email.
  • Re-optimizing a route (Mapbox needs to crunch the new order).
  • Looking up customers or jobs that weren't loaded before signal dropped.
  • Payouts and Stripe-related actions.

Jobs marked complete offline appear locally with a "queued" indicator. When signal returns, Mowzey syncs them in the background and fires any pending invoices.

Tips for poor-signal areas

Open your Schedule before driving out

Load today's Schedule on the truck or in the driveway while you still have WiFi. That caches all the job details locally for the day.

If you work consistently in a low-signal area (rural properties, basements, dead zones), download an offline map for that region in your phone's Maps app. Mowzey hands off to that app for directions, so the maps work without signal even when Mowzey can't refresh.
